Cheshire Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Route 69 in Prospect, Police Report.

PROSPECT — A Cheshire man died Wednesday morning after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Route 69, police report.

According to Connecticut State Police, 22-year-old Alexander Kaklyugin was pronounced dead at the scene by Prospect Fire Department personnel.

Police say Kaklyugin was riding his Yamaha XTZ700 northbound on Route 69 when a 60-year-old woman from Plainville driving a Nissan Rogue attempted to turn left onto Route 69 from Talmadge Hill Road just before 10:30 a.m.

The collision caused Kaklyugin to be thrown from his motorcycle. Both directions of Route 69 were closed near Talmadge Hill Road for several hours to facilitate the investigation, according to the Department of Transportation.

Authorities report the roadway has since reopened. The incident remains under investigation.
