PROSPECT — A Cheshire man died Wednesday morning after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Route 69, police said.
According to Connecticut State Police, 22-year-old Alexander Kaklyugin was pronounced dead at the scene by Prospect Fire Department personnel shortly after the incident.
Police reported that Kaklyugin was riding his Yamaha XTZ700 motorcycle north on Route 69 around 10:27 a.m. when a 60-year-old Plainville woman in a Nissan Rogue attempted to turn left onto Route 69 from Talmadge Hill Road and struck the motorcycle.
The impact caused the Yamaha to overturn, and Kaklyugin was ejected from the motorcycle, authorities said.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation confirmed that both directions of Route 69 were closed at Talmadge Hill Road for several hours for the investigation but have since reopened.
