WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Guerrero Moreno Jr., 46, died Monday night in a motorcycle crash near 109th Street North and Meridian, two years after his wife’s fatal accident.
The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m., when authorities said Moreno was traveling southbound on Meridian. For unknown reasons, he entered the northbound lanes and was struck by a Toyota RAV4.
Two years prior, on July 27, 2022, Moreno’s wife, Erin, a teacher in the Valley Center school district, died in a crash on the Kansas Turnpike. Four others were also injured in that accident.
Witnesses reported that the aftermath has led to significant community support for Moreno’s two sons, ages 14 and 11. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to assist the family, raising over $4,200 as of Wednesday afternoon.
The fundraiser aims to cover Guerrero Moreno’s funeral expenses and provide for his sons during this difficult time. “We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden left behind by this tragedy,” the campaign organizer stated.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the crash. No further details have been released regarding the RAV4’s driver or any additional injuries.
