(Gray News) — Corey Harrison, of “Pawn Stars” fame, is recovering in Mexico after a serious motorcycle accident on January 26.
According to authorities, the crash occurred in Tulum, causing significant injuries that left him unable to attend his father’s wedding shortly after.
Harrison suffered 11 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a concussion, and internal bleeding, as reported on a GoFundMe page set up for his medical expenses.
A friend initiated the fundraiser, indicating that Harrison spent 14 days in the hospital before returning home, where he experienced severe pain and low blood oxygen levels, necessitating another 18-day hospitalization.
During this second hospitalization, surgeons drained nearly 3 liters of blood from his chest and performed three lifesaving surgeries. His medical expenses have reportedly exceeded $100,000.
Harrison indicated he is no longer involved with “Pawn Stars” but still receives residual checks. He expressed reluctance to ask for financial assistance, stating, “What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff? I can’t move from my recliner.”
In response to questions regarding his son’s situation, Rick Harrison stated that he had covered all of Corey’s medical bills before the GoFundMe was established and emphasized his son’s financial responsibilities.
