CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A motorcycle crash during a pursuit by deputies resulted in a fatality early Saturday morning in Charleston County.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Roblero Arriaga from Mexico, according to the Charleston County Coroner.
Authorities said a Deputy attempted to stop a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Arriaga around 3 a.m. near Highway 78 and Midview Drive due to a lack of a license tag. Arriaga fled the scene, prompting a police pursuit.
Shortly thereafter, Arriaga crashed at the intersection of Dunmeyer Hill Road and Maria Eden Road in Summerville. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident further.
