ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A motorcycle crash early Friday morning resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man in Anderson County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a pickup truck attempted to turn east onto Haynie Drive from southbound Highway 413, colliding with a northbound motorcycle.
The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured, but the motorcyclist, identified as Joseph Ray Clardy Jr. of Anderson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has ruled the manner of Clardy’s death as accidental.
Emergency response teams were on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were reported as officials cleared the roadway.
