Coroners identify 18-year-old victim in Loveland motorcycle crash.

LOVELAND, CO — An 18-year-old man from Fort Collins died in a motorcycle crash on October 3 at Taft Avenue and 29th Street.

Brayden Heath Meece, riding a Yamaha motorcycle north on Taft Avenue, collided with a Toyota RAV4 that was making a left turn from southbound Taft onto 29th Street, according to the Loveland Police Department.

The RAV4 was driven by a 17-year-old girl, who turned into the motorcycle’s path. Preliminary findings from the police indicate that Meece’s speed contributed to the collision, and there are no indications of drug or alcohol involvement in the incident.

Authorities confirmed that Meece was ejected from his motorcycle and received immediate treatment from Thompson Valley EMS. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office ruled the manner of death an accident, citing multiple blunt force injuries as the cause.

The crash occurred near Loveland High School around the time of its homecoming dance, prompting a memorial of flowers and energy drinks left in Meece’s memory at the site.

Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
