OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – A Creston woman, Amy Anthenat, was sentenced to five years in prison for a fatal motorcycle crash in 2022.
Anthenat, 50, pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence, resulting in great bodily harm, in October.
The incident occurred on June 19, 2022, at the intersection of Illinois Route 64 and Mulford Road. Anthenat was driving a pickup truck when she collided with a motorcycle. Toxicology tests revealed cocaine in her system at the time of the crash.
The motorcycle operator, Richard Andrews, 61, of Addison, suffered fatal injuries and later died. Anthenat was uninjured in the incident.
Anthenat was charged in February 2023 following a thorough investigation by authorities. The Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office confirmed she must serve 85% of her sentence.
