LAS VEGAS, NV — A multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle critically injured one rider and closed a major Summerlin intersection on October 6.

The incident occurred around 1:35 PM at the intersection of South Rampart Boulevard and Canyon Run Drive, authorities said.

Details of the Collision

According to Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department incident reports, a motorcycle collided violently with a passenger vehicle at the busy intersection. The rider was ejected and sustained catastrophic injuries, prompting transport to a regional trauma center where they remain in critical condition.

Ongoing Investigation

Metro’s Fatal Detail unit is leading the investigation due to the severity of the rider’s injuries. Northbound and southbound lanes of Rampart Boulevard were closed during the forensic examination, redirecting traffic to alternative routes.

The driver of the passenger vehicle remained on scene and cooperated fully with authorities. Preliminary assessments indicated that impairment was not a factor in the crash. All lanes were reopened after a thorough investigation and removal of debris.
