A motorcycle crash on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland, left one man dead and closed the roadway for several hours early Tuesday.
Montgomery County Police responded at approximately 6:15 a.m. to a collision involving a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Manor Road and Connecticut Avenue. The motorcyclist was found in serious condition and later died at the scene, authorities said.
The driver of the car, a woman, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
Connecticut Avenue remained closed in both directions between Jones Bridge Road and Manor Road while officers investigated the incident. The roadway fully reopened by 10:50 a.m., according to WTOP’s Traffic Center.
This crash is part of a troubling trend, as Maryland has experienced several fatal motorcycle incidents recently, including a hit-and-run in Charles County that resulted in one death over the weekend.
