KNOXVILLE, TN — A multi-vehicle crash on I-40 East near Exit 398 left two people injured and caused significant lane closures Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident involved four vehicles and occurred around 2:17 p.m. No fatalities were reported.
Emergency responders, including local fire and EMS, arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance. Two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities stated that the eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed for approximately 90 minutes while crews cleared the wreckage and investigated the incident.
As of 3:47 p.m., all lanes have since reopened, and traffic is reported to be flowing normally.
