Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Stanton.

The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on March 13, 2024, in Stanton, leaving one man dead.

At approximately 3:58 p.m., a white 2024 GMC Sierra with an empty EBY horse trailer was traveling southbound on Limestone Road and stopped in the left turn lane at Tarry Lane. When the traffic signal turned green, the GMC made a U-turn and collided with a gray 2004 Yamaha YZF R1S motorcycle approaching the intersection at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man from Claymont, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification. The driver of the GMC, a 60-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, sustained no injuries.

Limestone Road was closed for approximately four hours as investigators worked at the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation.
