Fatal Motorcycle Crash Reported Near Buffalo, Wyoming

CASPER, Wyo. — A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on U.S. 16 near Buffalo on July 2, 2020.

Authorities identified the victim as 56-year-old Dave Handley, a local resident. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Handley’s Harley Davidson motorcycle crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming GMC Sierra and its camper trailer.

Witnesses reported that the driver of the GMC attempted to evade the collision by steering to the right. Evidence at the scene indicated no braking or evasive actions taken by Handley prior to impact.

Authorities stated that fatigue or a possible medical condition may have contributed to Handley’s actions at the time of the crash. He was not wearing a helmet. No injuries were reported for other individuals involved in the incident.
