ORANGE, Vt. — A 23-year-old man has been cited following a fatal head-on collision that claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl on October 5.
According to Vermont State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Richardson Road. Kyle Hunt was driving west in a Subaru Crosstrek when he turned in front of a Kawasaki KLX140 dirt bike, which was traveling east. The vehicles collided head-on.
The operator of the dirt bike, a 16-year-old girl, was found unresponsive. Despite lifesaving measures, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hunt has been cited for gross negligent operation with death resulting and obstruction of justice. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 25.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed further details regarding potential lane closures or other traffic impacts.
