GILFORD, NH — A Goffstown man pleaded not guilty to seven charges, including three counts of negligent homicide and DUI, following a deadly collision on Lake Shore Road on Sept. 20.
Anthony J. Summers, 32, was indicted on Dec. 19 after allegedly crossing the center line in his Ford Bronco, resulting in the deaths of three motorcyclists, including Timothy “TJ” Sullivan, who died on Oct. 5. Summers appeared in Belknap County Superior Court in Laconia on Tuesday, waiving a formal reading of the charges.
According to County Attorney Keith Cormier, the incident was reported at approximately 6:10 p.m. and involved two motorcycles—operated by Scott and Robyn Blomerth—who were pronounced dead at the scene. Cormier stated that eyewitnesses reported the Bronco was driving significantly into the oncoming lane at the time of impact.
Summers was described as having bloodshot eyes upon arrival of law enforcement and refused a blood test until a court order was obtained. A subsequent blood test showed a BAC of 0.027, along with THC and amphetamines.
Witnesses described the Bronco encroaching into their lane, with estimates placing it “50%-65%” over the center line. A drone-assisted reconstruction estimated Summers’ speed at the time of impact between 37-41 mph, while the motorcycles were traveling around 29-31 mph.
During the hearing, Judge Elizabeth Leonard stated she would consider the bail request and issue a ruling soon. A dispositional conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 in Belknap County Superior Court.
