PALO ALTO — A man died in a solo-vehicle crash late Sunday night on Oregon Expressway, authorities said.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. near the Alma Street underpass. Responding officers found a man in his 50s unconscious in a sedan.
Emergency personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office once confirmed and next of kin notified.
Preliminary investigations indicate the sedan was traveling westbound when it collided with the underpass wall. The cause of the crash, including whether drugs or alcohol were involved, remains undetermined.
Oregon Expressway was closed for about six hours following the incident.
