Driver with life-threatening injuries charged with DUI following motorcycle crash, officials report.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — A 45-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a motorcycle crash on Sunday, May 12, at 5:30 p.m.

Christopher P. Jacobson was traveling southbound on Barnes County Road 21, approximately 2 miles north of Valley City, when he lost control of his motorcycle. The bike left the roadway and came to rest in the east ditch, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. Jacobson was airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where he remains in serious condition.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident, with no further details on potential lane closures or involved parties available at this time.
