34-Year-Old Whitehorse Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Alaska Highway

A single-vehicle motorcycle crash on the Alaska Highway near Marsh Lake resulted in the death of a 34-year-old Whitehorse man Saturday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Dylan Lavoie by the Yukon Chief Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the Yukon River bridge.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are investigating the cause of the crash and confirmed that toxicology analysis will be conducted at the British Columbia Provincial Toxicology Laboratory.

Kirsten Macdonald, the Yukon’s chief coroner, expressed condolences to Lavoie’s family and friends, stating that further details will be withheld pending investigation.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, but details regarding any injuries or other involved parties were not confirmed.

Authorities said they will continue their investigation and provide updates as available.
