WESTPORT (WBSM) — A 29-year-old Fall River man died in a motorcycle crash late Saturday night on Main Road in Westport.
Victim Identified
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the victim is John Soares IV.
Crash Details
Westport Police received a 911 call at 11:38 p.m. on April 11 regarding a single motorcycle accident near 178 Main Road. Emergency services arrived to find a damaged Harley-Davidson motorcycle off the roadway.
Soares was located approximately 50 feet from the motorcycle with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Impact Analysis
Authorities reported that Soares appeared to have struck a telephone pole and a stone wall, both displaying signs of impact. Debris was scattered across the roadway and nearby property.
Investigation Underway
The incident is under investigation by the Westport Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office.
