One Dead, Two Injured in Highway 82 Crash Near Carbondale on Sunday
CARBONDALE, CO—A motorcycle crash on Highway 82 claimed one life and injured two others on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. near mile marker 12, according to Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
Authorities reported that a 53-year-old man from Grand Junction, who was driving the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 56-year-old woman also from Grand Junction sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A 77-year-old resident of Woody Creek, driving a blue Chevy pickup truck involved in the crash, was also injured; the extent of his injuries remains unknown. CSP troopers indicated that the identity of the individuals involved will not be disclosed at this time.
The highway was closed in both directions from mile markers 11.5 to 15.7. It has since reopened as of 5:20 p.m. Sunday, after troopers completed evidence documentation.
