PINE GROVE TWP., SCHUYLKILL CO. (WOLF) — A 24-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon following a crash involving a van and a motorcycle in Pine Grove Township, Pennsylvania State Police reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:23 p.m. on March 10, on East Pottsville Street, just east of School Street.
According to investigators, an 81-year-old man from Lykenstown was attempting to turn left from a parking lot onto East Pottsville Street in a 2006 Ford Econoline E250 van when a 2025 Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle traveling eastbound collided with the van.
The collision caused both vehicles to rest along the eastbound shoulder.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 24-year-old woman from Auburn, sustained severe injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital East by Pine Grove Community Ambulance, where she later died.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the van was unharmed and was wearing a seat belt at the time. The motorcyclist was also wearing a helmet.
State Police crash reconstruction specialists are currently investigating the incident. No further details about the crash were available.
