A 24-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 81/287 near County Road 1591 early July 28, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Authorities said Karson Parker, traveling south on an Aprilia RS motorcycle, lost control around 5:40 a.m. and struck the center cable barrier. He was transported to Medical City Decatur, where he later died from his injuries.
The crash investigation is ongoing, according to DPS spokesperson Sgt. Tony De La Cerda.
Parker’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at First Baptist Church in Alvord, with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
