Motorcyclist Dies in Phoenix Crash Saturday Afternoon
PHOENIX — A motorcyclist died following a collision with a truck on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.
Phoenix Police responded to the incident at 3:09 p.m. near Seventh Street and Piute Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found 39-year-old Norman Absher critically injured after his motorcycle was struck by a truck. He was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The truck driver remained at the scene and was evaluated for impairment, showing no signs of intoxication. Authorities stated that the truck driver made a left turn in front of Absher, which contributed to the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that the speed of Absher’s motorcycle may have also played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released. Lane closures were implemented during the initial response.
