BRIDGEWATER, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Two people died in a motorcycle crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 90 near Bridgewater on Monday.
Derrick Jason Brousseau, 40, was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound when a 2016 Volvo semi-truck collided with the rear of his vehicle at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Brousseau and passenger Deeann Annette Dyer, 39, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Authorities confirmed that both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders from the South Dakota Highway Patrol and local authorities were dispatched to the scene. The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were closed for several hours as investigators processed the site.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
