South Brunswick, NJ — A 32-year-old man from Keyport died following a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Monday morning.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident occurred at 4:01 a.m. near milepost 76, when the man’s Nissan collided with a Toyota minivan, leaving his vehicle disabled in the center lane. Moments later, a Kia SUV struck the Nissan, and the driver exited his vehicle, standing in the left lane when a Toyota SUV hit him, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived and confirmed the man’s death. He was identified as Albert R. Masonius of Keyport. The New Jersey State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No additional injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing. Traffic was affected as lanes were closed for clearing and investigation purposes.
