A multi-vehicle collision occurred on Interstate 40 near Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 5, 2023, at approximately 5:15 p.m., resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the crash involved five vehicles, including two passenger cars and three trucks, and led to lane closures in both directions. Emergency responders from the Little Rock Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to aid the injured.
Witnesses reported that traffic was heavily congested as a result of the incident, with responders on site for several hours to clear the wreckage and assist victims. Two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while five others were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Authorities said an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Towing services were called in to remove the vehicles involved, and all lanes reopened around 9:30 p.m.
