Flemington Man, 33, Killed in Clinton Township Motorcycle Accident.

A 33-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Clinton Township on Saturday afternoon.

Simon D. Zellin of Flemington was riding a 2025 Yamaha R1 on County Road 629 when the incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m., according to authorities. The collision involved a Chevrolet Colorado that was turning into a residential driveway when Zellin’s motorcycle struck its rear passenger side and wheel.

Emergency medical responders provided initial care at the scene before Zellin was airlifted by the New Jersey State Police NorthStar helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The hospital is a designated Level I Trauma Center, treating nearly 2,500 trauma patients annually.

The pickup truck’s driver was unharmed, while a passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site, authorities said. A preliminary investigation revealed the Colorado was entering the driveway when the motorcycle struck it, but it remains unclear if speed or other factors contributed to the crash. No charges have been filed.

The Serious Crash Investigation Team has been deployed to reconstruct the incident on County Road 629, with the investigation ongoing. Authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact Detective John Laurencelle of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office at 908-788-1129.
