Former Alabama Governor Hospitalized Following Motorcycle Accident.

Former Alabama Governor Bob Riley suffered multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident in Fairbanks, Alaska, on Sunday afternoon.

Riley, 78, was riding along a gravel road when he lost control due to a slick area and fell, according to his former chief of staff, Dave Stewart. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with seven broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Authorities confirmed that emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported Riley for medical treatment. His condition is reportedly stable, and doctors have indicated he is recovering well.

Riley began a cross-country motorcycle journey from Alabama two weeks prior, reaching Alaska shortly before the incident.

His wife, Patsy Riley, expressed gratitude that the situation was not worse, stating, “God was watching out for him.”

Riley served as Alabama’s governor for eight years, concluding his second term in January 2011.
