Four Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Reported in Minnesota This Week
MINNESOTA — At least four motorcycle operators lost their lives in separate crashes across Minnesota from Sunday to Tuesday, with ages ranging from 17 to 71.
The most recent incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Scott County. Authorities said 71-year-old Dale Donald Sibbet was killed after his motorcycle left the roadway and struck an embankment on a county road between Jordan and New Prague. He was pronounced dead at the scene, with impairment from drugs and/or alcohol believed to be a contributing factor.
26-Year-Old Man Dies in Rochester Collision
On Tuesday morning, 26-year-old Damon Saponari of Rochester was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle collision with an SUV at the intersection of 40th Street Southeast and Woodlake Drive, leading to northbound Hwy. 63. The driver of the SUV was unharmed, and the crash investigation is ongoing.
Teen Killed in Central Minnesota Crash
A 17-year-old boy died Monday evening after his motorcycle collided with a silage trailer being towed by a tractor in Benton County. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when he attempted to pass the farm machinery.
Hastings Man Dies in Hwy. 61 Crash
On Sunday, 28-year-old Jeremiah Thomas Miller Hurley was killed in a collision with an SUV at the Hwy. 61 and Hwy. 95 interchange in Hastings. He was pronounced dead at the scene, with the SUV driver sustaining no injuries.
