GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — One person died and another was injured in a motorcycle crash on South Island Road Sunday evening.
According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway, the accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. near George Washington Trail.
A 2018 Indian motorcycle was traveling south when it veered off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.
The motorcycle driver succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital, while the passenger was treated for injuries. Their identities have not been released by the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash; no further details have been made available.
Towing services were on scene to clear the wreckage, affecting traffic flow on South Island Road.
