WHITE, Ga. — Mayor Perry Bell died in a motocross accident Saturday morning at Lazy River Motocross near Dalton, officials confirmed.
According to interim Mayor Gary Crisp, Bell’s motorcycle collided with another during a stunt, resulting in fatal injuries. Emergency services responded, but Bell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Perry Bell, who had been in office for just over two months, was sworn in as mayor in June. Authorities indicated they are considering a special election to fill the vacant position.
