MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — A two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, in Mobile County, resulting in one fatality.
The crash involved a sedan and a pickup truck on Interstate 65 South, near mile marker 78, according to Authorities.
One individual, identified as 34-year-old Emily Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Emergency response included units from the Mobile Police Department and Mobile Fire-Rescue, who assisted at the scene. The southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for approximately three hours during the investigation and cleanup.
Authorities said an investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
