Grand Island motorcyclist dies in Highway 30 collision with SUV.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – One person is dead following a motorcycle-SUV collision Sunday afternoon in Hall County.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 4:50 p.m. on March 29 to East Capital Avenue and East Highway 30.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle struck an SUV as it turned onto Highway 30 from Capital Avenue.

The SUV driver, 53, sustained minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt during the incident.

The motorcyclist, identified as 45-year-old Schuyler Crooks of Grand Island, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a helmet.

Investigators stated that alcohol is not suspected to have contributed to the crash. An autopsy is pending at the direction of the Hall County Attorney’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing. Hall County deputies were assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol and local fire and police departments.
