GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 56-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on US 29 on Sunday night, according to Greensboro Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:07 p.m. when David Len McDaniel was riding a Harley-Davidson southbound on US 29, between Textile Drive and East Wendover Avenue. Authorities reported that as McDaniel rode through standing water, he was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway.
McDaniel was subsequently struck by a passing vehicle and died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and complied with investigators. Authorities stated that neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash.
The Greensboro Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
