A 20-year-old man was killed in Hanover Borough after his motorcycle collided with a trailer on July 8.
According to Hanover Borough Police, the crash occurred around 5:13 a.m. at the intersection of Carlisle Street and Eisenhower Drive.
The victim, a Hanover resident, was riding a 2017 Suzuki GSXR when he struck a trailer being towed by a 2006 Chevrolet 3500 driven by Adam Snyder of New Oxford. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the York County Coroner’s Office, with blunt force trauma cited as the cause of death. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Firefighters responded to the 1100 block of Carlisle Street around 5:16 a.m. for the motorcycle crash, according to York County 911 records. The wreckage was found scattered at the intersection, with the truck and trailer stopped in the eastbound lanes of Eisenhower Drive.
Road closures were established, with Carlisle Street closed between Wilson Avenue and Radio Road due to the incident. Fire police from United Hook and Ladder, Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services, Alpha Fire Company of Littlestown, and Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating and is asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them through York County 911 or at 717-637-5575.
