Harford County Community Unites to Support Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident.

EDGEWOOD, Md. — A motorcycle accident on Route 40 left Kevin Peters hospitalized this month, prompting community support through fundraisers.

According to a GoFundMe set up by his sister, Peters was riding northbound on Route 40 when a driver made a U-turn and collided with him. The accident resulted in multiple serious injuries, including a fractured skull.

Local businesses, including The Screaming Bean, have rallied to aid Peters and his family. Martin Grams, CEO of The Screaming Bean, announced that all proceeds from Wednesday’s sales will be donated to assist with Peters’ medical expenses. The café plans to match donations with an additional $1,000.

Grams noted the café has been well-prepared for large crowds, stocking up on baked goods and coffee supplies. The fundraiser has gained significant traction on social media, leading to over 1,000 shares from local senators, businesses, and community members.

In addition to monetary contributions, local artists are donating artwork for silent auctions, and T-shirts with “For Kevin” are being worn by employees to show support. Peters’ sister reported that he is now breathing and talking on his own, though he remains in pain.

Those unable to attend the event can contribute through The Screaming Bean’s website.
