A serious motorcycle crash occurred on Richmond Highway near Armistead Road in Lorton at approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 5.
According to the FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT, multiple ambulances, fire crews, and a police helicopter were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the involved dump truck was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Northbound lanes of Richmond Highway were closed at Armistead Road during the investigation. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area.
