High-Speed Motorcycle Crash on US-23 in Pickaway County Injures Two After Bike Soars into the Air.

Two Injured in High-Speed Motorcycle Crash in Harrison Township

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, OH – Two individuals sustained injuries Saturday evening following a motorcycle crash on U.S. Route 23.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:08 p.m. on March 21, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office. A red Kawasaki motorcycle, traveling northbound at a high speed, lost control and veered off the roadway.

Investigators report the motorcycle traveled about 285 feet through the median before striking a culvert, launching the bike into the air for an additional 185 feet before landing. The motorcycle rolled multiple times and came to rest in the median.

The driver, 25-year-old Chase D. Ryan of Lancaster, and passenger, 19-year-old Payton Katherine Elaine Wince of Washington Court House, were both injured and transported by EMS to Grant Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities cited Ryan for failure to drive in marked lanes and operating without a valid license.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
