Albuquerque –
Albuquerque Police Department officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and motorcycle on northbound Interstate 25 near Lead/Coal at approximately 2:41 p.m. today.
According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was down but conscious at the time of reporting. Albuquerque Fire Rescue is on the scene providing medical aid; the rider’s condition remains unclear.
Drivers are experiencing delays on northbound I-25. APD, Police Service Aides, and New Mexico State Police have closed multiple lanes of traffic at Avenida Cesar Chavez, with two lanes reportedly open.
UPDATE:
As of 4:40 p.m., crash cleanup was still in progress.
UPDATE 2:
At 5:10 p.m., APD had closed the two left lanes of I-25 as debris removal continued.
UPDATE 3:
All lanes of northbound I-25 were reopened by 5:20 p.m.
