HONOLULU (Local News Wire) – A 51-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision on Kapiolani Boulevard in Moiliili on Tuesday afternoon.
The motorcyclist, identified as Kenneth Calimpong of Honolulu, was involved in a crash around 3:45 p.m. Authorities confirmed he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office is currently determining the cause and manner of death.
Honolulu Police reported that speed was not believed to be a factor in the collision. This incident marks the 23rd traffic fatality on Oahu for 2023, compared to 44 fatalities at the same time in 2022.
Emergency services responded to the scene, but no other vehicles were reported to be involved. Roadway closures were enacted during the investigation, which is ongoing.
