Fatal Collision with Unoccupied Dozer in Steele County
STEELE COUNTY, N.D. – A 42-year-old man from Hope, North Dakota, died on the evening of May 15 after crashing into an unoccupied dozer.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado from Page to Hope when he failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection of 12th Street and 126th Avenue Southeast. He left the roadway and struck a Komatsu dozer located in a field.
The crash was discovered shortly before 9:30 a.m. on May 16. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Authorities have stated that the incident is under investigation.
