Horry County hairstylist killed in motorcycle accident in Aynor, SC.

Aynor, SC—A motorcyclist, Melissa Lubrico, 45, of Galivants Ferry, died on March 10 from injuries sustained in a crash on March 7.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:38 p.m. at the intersection of Bud Graham Road and 7th Avenue, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. Lubrico was a passenger on a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which crossed left of center and ran off the road, as reported by Master Trooper Joseph Rowell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lubroco was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Ryan Carl Peavy, 44, was arrested on March 8 and charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death and hit and run duties of a driver involved in an accident with death. Peavy was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center and is currently on home detention.

The salon where Lubrico worked, Kolor Me Klassy, will be closed Wednesday in her honor, as shared on their social media. Friends and colleagues remembered her as a vibrant presence in the community, noting her deep connections with clients and her passion for riding motorcycles.
