A crash involving a motorcycle and a van near NRG Stadium on Saturday leaves one dead, according to Houston police.
HOUSTON — The incident occurred at approximately 4:42 p.m. on Almeda Road near Hepburn Street, as the motorcycle was traveling northbound.
Authorities said the van was exiting a stop sign on Hepburn when it collided with the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
A drug recognition unit confirmed that the van driver was not under the influence at the time of the crash, according to the Houston Police Department. The status of any potential charges remains unclear.
Emergency response included the Houston Police Department and medical aid. No road closures were reported following the incident.
