Husker Kicker Mauro Bondi Injured in Motorcycle Crash
Lincoln, NE – A motorcycle crash on Thursday evening has left Nebraska kicker Mauro Bondi with a broken clavicle.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, the 21-year-old UNL junior lost control of his motorcycle, hitting a curb before leaving the roadway. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. at 24th and Fletcher Avenue.
Authorities reported that Bondi was cited for negligent driving and operating a motorcycle without a license. No alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
Emergency responders treated Bondi at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital. His current condition has not been disclosed.
Head Coach Bo Pelini issued a statement wishing Bondi a swift recovery, as he is now placed on the injured list.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
