OKLAHOMA CITY – A motorcycle crash on I-40 westbound resulted in the death of the rider, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, leading to the closure of westbound lanes at Western Avenue. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, where a motorcycle was reported on fire. At least one person was seen being transported to an ambulance.
Authorities confirmed that the scene had been cleared and the westbound lanes of I-40 are now open.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area due to lingering traffic impacts. Detours suggested include using I-235 north to I-44 or I-35 south to I-240.
