I-77 Northbound Reopens Following Fatal Crash.

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Three people died in a four-vehicle crash on I-77 Northbound near the Goldtown exit on Thursday morning.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger, a southbound truck crossed the median, colliding with a vehicle in the northbound lanes. The crash was reported to Jackson County 911 shortly after 7 a.m.

As of 1:25 p.m., all northbound lanes have reopened after being closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene, according to the West Virginia Division of Highways.

The Ripley Fire Department confirmed that emergency responders were on-site managing the situation until operations concluded.

No further details about injuries or the victims have been released. Drivers are advised to avoid the area as clean-up commenced.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
