JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A multi-vehicle crash on I-77 North near the Goldtown exit resulted in three fatalities Thursday morning.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger, the incident involved four vehicles and occurred just after 7 a.m. A southbound truck crossed the median, colliding with a northbound vehicle.
Emergency crews, including members from the Ripley Fire Department, are currently clearing the scene. The northbound lanes remain closed as of 12:51 p.m., with no estimated time for reopening.
Authorities advise drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
