Over the Fourth of July weekend, the Idaho State Police reported three serious traffic accidents on Idaho highways, leading to multiple hospitalizations and one fatality.
The first incident occurred on July 3 at approximately 10 PM near Anderson Ranch Reservoir in Elmore County. A male driver lost control of a 2026 Kawasaki ATV/UTV on a curve, resulting in his death at the scene. Two passengers were airlifted to a local hospital.
The second serious accident took place at 12:19 PM on July 4 on SH 21 near mile marker 31, involving a motorcycle and an SUV. A 27-year-old male, a member of Boise City Search and Rescue, was riding a 2025 KTM 390 when he collided with a blue Ford Bronco driven by a 46-year-old male from Medford, Oregon. The motorcycle driver was transported by air ambulance to a hospital, while the Bronco driver reported no injuries.
The third accident occurred on July 6 just before noon at the intersection of SH 28 and SH 22 between Arco and Rexburg. A 23-year-old female from Georgetown, Texas, failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling west on SH 22, resulting in a collision with a Jeep Gladiator driven by a 51-year-old male from Crestview, Florida. Both individuals were hospitalized; the Gladiator’s female passenger was airlifted for further treatment.
