Injured Mississippi State trooper shows progress in recovery following motorcycle crash.

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (Local News Wire) — Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Tavon Moore is recovering from significant injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 2.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway 605 in Harrison County. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), Trooper Moore was on duty at the time but not engaged in a pursuit and no other vehicles were involved.

Trooper Moore is currently hospitalized in Atlanta. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that he is making progress but has a long recovery ahead. MHP confirmed that his injuries are severe and recovery is projected to take several months.

Emergency medical services transported Moore to the hospital following the accident. The agency is actively monitoring his condition.

A GoFundMe has been established to support the Moore family during this time. Additionally, a benefit softball tournament is scheduled for September 5-6 at Hood Fields in Wiggins.

DPS urged the public to keep Trooper Moore and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
