Motorcycle and SUV Collision in Wabasha County Leaves Two Injured
WABASHA, MN – A collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Wabasha County Rd. 77, injuring two riders.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. Both vehicles were traveling south when they collided. The motorcycle, driven by 38-year-old Eric James Schwarz and carrying passenger 62-year-old Susan Diane Schwarz, is from Brooklyn Park.
Both riders sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Susan was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, while Eric received treatment at the scene. The SUV, driven by 79-year-old Donald Anthony Evanson of Minnesota City, sustained no injuries.
Authorities confirmed that neither alcohol nor speed contributed to the incident. Both motorcycle riders were wearing helmets, and Evanson was buckled in.
The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, Wabasha Fire Department, and Wabasha Ambulance responded to the crash.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
